This policy explains what information Last Chance (the "app") collects, how it's used, and your choices — written in plain language, covering exactly what the app actually does.

What information is collected
Last Chance is a shared shopping list app for households. To provide that, it collects:
Account information — your email address and a display name, when you create an account.
Shopping list content you and your group create — items you add, purchase history, saved recipes, and any questions or notes attached to list items.
Photos you choose to attach — optionally, to a shopping list item (to show exactly what you mean) or as a shared background image for your group. These are stored directly as part of your group's data.
Where you're shopping, if you choose to share it — when you notify your group you're heading out, you can optionally type in where you're going (e.g. "Woolworths Chatswood"). This is free text you type yourself — the app does not access your device's GPS or precise location.
A push notification token — a device identifier used only to deliver notifications to your group (e.g. "last chance to add items," "shop complete").
Basic usage data — which screens and features are used, via Firebase Analytics, to understand how the app is used and fix problems. This does not include the content of your shopping list.
Who can see your data
Shopping list items, history, recipes, and photos are shared with the other members of your household group only — the group you created or joined with an invite code. They are not visible to other Last Chance users outside your group, and access is enforced at the database level, not just by the app's design.
Who your data is shared with
Last Chance does not sell your data, and does not use it for advertising. Data is processed by the infrastructure providers that make the app work:
Google Firebase — hosts the app's database, handles account sign-in, and provides basic usage analytics.
Expo — delivers push notifications to your device.
These providers process data on the app's behalf and don't use it for their own purposes.
How long data is kept
Your account and group data are kept for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete my account), which permanently removes your login and profile. Shopping list items, history, and recipes you contributed to a shared group remain as part of that group's records after account deletion, since they're shared household data, not solely personal data.
Your choices
Edit your display name, or leave a group, at any time from within the app.
Delete your account entirely from within the app (Settings → Delete my account) — no need to contact support.
Turn off notifications for the app from your device's system settings at any time.
